Well, I hate to say I told you so, but… we kind of saw this coming.

We just posted a blog about hail season in San Antonio, and sure enough, last night proved us right. That storm rolled through with a whole lot more power than expected. Folks on the northwest and far west side got hit the hardest. I’ve already had customers from Alamo Ranch and Potranco swing by this morning with cracked glass, dented roofs, and bumpers that look like they went through a batting cage.

This time, the hail wasn’t just pea-sized or even golf ball-sized. We’re talking grapefruit. It sounded like someone was tossing bricks at rooftops all night.

So if you walked out today and found new damage on your car, don’t worry. You’re not the only one. And you’re not alone.

In this post, I’ll walk you through exactly what to do next. It’s the same advice I give my own neighbors after every spring storm. It won’t take long, and it might save you from a bigger repair bill later.

Let’s get into it.

What to Do If You Think Your Car Took a Hit

First, take a good look around your car. Even if it looks fine from a distance, get up close. Check the roof, hood, and trunk in the sunlight. That’s usually where dents hide.

Look at your windshield too. Small chips around the edges can grow fast, especially with this week’s heat. If the glass is cracked or broken, try to cover it until you can get it looked at.

Then, take pictures. Every angle, even if the damage seems small. You’ll be glad you did if you need to show them to your insurance.

If you’re not sure how bad it is, just swing by. We’re doing free hail checks this week, no strings attached. You don’t even need an appointment. We’ll give you a straight answer and help you figure out the next step.

We’ve Got You Covered
